What is the Planning Commission responsible for?

The Planning Commission reviews and considers all new signs, new commercial / industrial development, and exterior alterations to commercial and industrial buildings. The Planning Commission also reviews all new residential developments (new subdivisions) and additions to residential construction and recommends either approval or denial to the City Council. The Planning Commission is assisted by the City Planner, City Attorney, and Building Official. The Planning Commission is guided by the Master Plan for the City, which is available on our website using the link below, can be viewed at the Village Hall and a printed version can be purchased.
